Charles Liner
In March of 1968, Charles Liner joined Hixson Brothers as an apprentice embalmer and funeral director. Charles began working at Hixson Brothers after mortuary school and is still part of the staff. He loves his work and helping others.

Charles was raised in Ruston, Louisiana, by his parents Miles and Mabel Liner. He graduated from Ruston High School where he participated in football and track. After high school, he attended Louisiana Tech University in Ruston for two years. In February of 1968, he graduated from Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science and began his career at Hixson Brothers.

Charles is a member of various organizations. As a member of the Cenla Civitan Club, he currently serves as club president. As a member of the North Louisiana Funeral Directors Association, he served as president in 1999 and received the 1999-2000 Funeral Director of the Year Award. Charles’ father held the same office when he was a member of the North Louisiana Funeral Directors Association. He is also a member of the Louisiana Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association.

In his leisure time, Charles enjoys coaching youth baseball and football in such organizations as Alexandria Little League, City Park, and Civitan. He is an avid LSU fan in all sports. He enjoys fishing with his son. Charles is a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

In August of 1972, Charles married the former Sharon Beth Parker of Bossier City, Louisiana. He and his wife have two children, Kimberly and John Miles. Kimberly is a graduate of Louisiana Tech University with a Masters Degree, and John is a graduate of Alexandria Senior High School and will attend Louisiana Tech University.
