DeAnna Chalker
DeAnna is the Resident Musician for Hixson Brothers in Alexandria She has been associated with the firm since 2003. Her total service in the music field exceeds thirty years. In addition to her duties at Hixson Brothers, she is the organist at Horseshoe Drive United Methodist Church and is an instructor in piano, organ and voice.

DeAnna was born in 1956 in Springhill, La. To her parents, Connie Ray and Irma Teutsch. After graduating from High School, DeAnna entered Louisiana College where she majored in and excelled in Music Education. She played various instruments in professional bands for many years while also teaching special education children. She acquired a Masters Degree in 1994 from Northwestern State University and spent twenty five years teaching special education for the Rapides Parish School system. She was the organist at St. Frances Cabrini Church and St. James Episcopal Church(during the years of 1979-2001)

She is a member of the American Guild of Organists, the Matinee Musical Club of Alexandria(no longer functioning), the Council for Exceptional Children, and the CENLA Orchid Society. She currently teaches private piano, organ, and voice lessons on her studio.

In addition to her love of music, DeAnna enjoys cooking, private chef-ing, catering parties,gardening and caring for many pets.
