Kent Juneau
Kent presently serves as an Embalmer/Funeral Director at the Alexandria branch of Hixson Brothers. Upon graduation from Commonwealth School of Mortuary Science in Houston, Kent began work with Hixson Brothers on September 21, 1964, and he has been employed with us ever since that date. Kent will be celebrating his 40th year with Hixson Brothers this September. As an employee, Kent has served as the Assistant Manager of the Marksville Branch and as Manager of the Bunkie Branch.

Kent Juneau was born on July 17, 1943, in Pineville, Louisiana to Richard and Myrstice Juneau, both of whom are now deceased. Kent, along with his mother and siblings, moved to Cottonport after the death of his father in 1945.

Prior to attending mortuary school, Kent was a graduate of Cottonport High School in Cottonport, Louisiana. In his youth, Kent was an Altar server at St. Mary Assumption Catholic Church and he was a member of the track and football team. As a football player, Kent received several awards such as the Best Lineman Award, the Coach’s Award, and placement on the All-District Second Team. Kent also attended Louisiana State University at Alexandria and the University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette. Kent also attended the Avoyelles Parish Vocational School where he received a certificate in General Business.

In September 1964, Kent and Anna Gail Riche were wed in Evergreen, Louisiana. Kent and Gail are extremely active in the Catholic Church where they serve as Eucharistic Lay Ministers. Kent and Gail have two children, Richard Juneau and Jill Juneau Tassin. Richard and his wife, Janelle, reside in Bunkie. Jill and her husband, Patrick, are the parents of Hayden, Ellie and Will Joseph.

Kent’s outside interests include enjoying his three grandchildren, golfing, woodworking, and hunting.
