Laura is a retired educator with 24 years of experience in elementary education.  She made a career change to funeral directing in June of 2008.  She was raised in Cocoville and Hickory Hill and attended Marksville High School.  She graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from Louisiana College in 1984.  You may recognize her from Fifth Ward High School or Lafargue Elementary where she taught grades K-4.  She enjoys reading, singing, watching movies and fishing.  She resides outside the city limits of Marksville and is the wife of Thomas Marcotte and mother of Lance St. Romain.  She has three step-daughters, Kayla, Kerra, and Kasey and a step-grandson, Gabriel.  Most of her free time is devoted to her pets, Mylow and Z, and spending time at her camp in Spring Bayou.
