In October 1964, Ronnie Jordan began working in funeral service with Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Winnfield, Louisiana, as an assistant funeral director and ambulance driver. After graduating from mortuary collage in March of 1967, Ronnie with his wife moved to Jena, Louisiana, to work for Hixson Brothers as a funeral director and mortician. Ronnie was promoted to branch manager of the Jena funeral home in 1971 and has served in this position to present. Ronnie has seen many changes in the organization. Some of these changes include the construction of the funeral home in Jena, which he and the staff moved into in November 1972. After renovation and expansion in 1997, Ronnie boasts that the Jena Hixson Brothers is the most beautiful building in the town of Jena.
Ronnie is a member of various organizations. He is a member of East Jena Baptist Church. He is also a member of the North Louisiana Funeral Director’s Association, the LaSalle Association for the Developmentally Delayed, and a former member of the LaSalle Parish Fair Association.
In his spare time, Ronnie enjoys riding horses, hunting, fishing, and gardening. Ronnie and his wife enjoy traveling and camping.
Ronnie is married to Judy Baker Jordan. They have been married for 39 years. Ronnie and Judy have two daughters, Tammy Jordan Stickle and Stephanie Jordan. The pride and joy of their lives are their two grandchildren, Sydney and Shelby Stickle. Ronnie is the son of Leigh Hurl Jordan of Winnfield, Louisiana.
