Ed has been a furneral director since 1971 and is a native of Alexandria. He graduated from Bolton High School, Class of 1964. After high school, Ed attended Northeast Louisiana University and graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Sociology in 1969. While attending Northeast, Ed was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order.
Ed is a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, the Downtown Alexandria Rotary Club (since 1971), Ducks Unlimited, the National Funeral Directors Association, the Louisiana Funeral Directors Association, & the North Louisiana Funeral Directors Association.
In his leisure, Ed enjoys spending time with his family, bream fishing, boating, and bowling.
Ed married his wife Connie in 1970. They have two daughters, Jane Hixson Durden of Chicago and Edie Hixson of Woodworth. Ed & Connie are also the proud grandparents of two, Lillian Allen Durden, born August 7th, 2004 and Benjamin Hixson Easley, born October 4th, 2005.
