Obituary for Jimmy Wayne Nugent

Funeral Services for Jimmy Wayne Nugent will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Marksville with Pastor Barbara Nugent officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Mausoleum #2 in Marksville. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Marksville.
Mr. Nugent, age 74, born and raised in Pineville, a resident of Marksville, passed away on Monday, June 11, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest and Georgia Cagle Nugent; one daughter, Paula Nugent Reynolds; one brother, Edward T. Nugent; two sisters, Ollie McClure and Mary Bryan.
He was a devoted husband and father who had extreme love for God. He was a Godfearing man, yet he loved the Lord with his entire heart and soul. He was a born-again Christian, who would have had his life lived no other way. Christ was the head of his home. He and his wife were founding members and dedicated servants of the Body of Christ Ministry Church.
Barbara Ann was the love of his life. He expressed his love through his actions and words. God was the center of their lives and the foundation which held their marriage together. He cherished his children each day.
Mr. Nugent was an architectural planner in the plumbing industry for 50 years. He retired from Fru-Con Corp/Proctor and Gamble of Pineville, LA. He was a very dedicated employee with an outstanding work ethic and had a great working relationship with his coworkers. Jimmy dedicated 19 years as an instructor at Alexandria Pipe Trader JATS Local 247. He was a member of the United Association for 50 years. Throughout the years, he received many awards including Watkins Engineers and Constructors Planners Training, Safety Supervisor, as well as many others.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 53 years, Barbara Ponthieux Nugent of Marksville; two sons, Keith Nugent of Marksville, Michael Nugent and wife Cindy of Pineville; one daughter Susan Nugent Pringle of Woodworth; four grandchildren, Joshua Wayne Nugent, Bailey Megison, Zoey Megison, Rachel Nugent; three sisters, Marjorie Johnson of TX, Margaret Funderbunk of Ball, Judy Satcher of Williana; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Marksville from 5:00 p.m. until time of service on Wednesday.
Pallbearers honored to serve will be Keith Nugent, Michael P. Nugent, Nyx Bordelon, Roland Ponthieux, Jr., James Ponthieux, and Jason Ponthieux.
