When you lose your husband of 55 years, the last thing you want to do is be inundated with grief and the responsibility for funeral arrangements. Honestly, I chose Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Pineville because the location was so close to where I live. And I dreaded when I had to go talk to them. We didn't have a plot, had never discussed headstones, etc. My husband and I just talked about wanting to go to heaven. On my first visit to the funeral home to talk about arrangements, I knew I had made a very good decision. Terry Luneau was awesome. My family was treated with a genuine kindness. He was very professional but at same time I got the feeling that he genuinely cared about me and how to put me at ease. He walked me through the whole process. All of the staff were awesome. It was like you were working with friends. They felt like part of my family. It was a very hard thing for me to go through, but at least they did a tremendous job of lightening my load. Even after the funeral both Terry & Julie Morris were in contact with me to see how I was doing and offered grief counseling and multiple resources. At the time I didn't realize that I was in a fog and/or denial stage over my husband's death. When the reality set in, I was so thankful that they had given me the resources to get the emotional help I needed. I can't say enough nice things about them. My thanks go to them for all of their kindness, expertise, professionalism and just general help.

Hixson Brothers in Marksville was amazing. My mother Nancy Humphries passed recently and Paula assisted us in planning everything. She was comforting, easy to talk to, and made it all so much less stressful then I was expecting. We were very pleased. My mothers funeral was very beautiful . Thank you so much :)

My mom, Martha Williams Lee was laid to rest on October 30, 2020. Mom made me promise to have her arrangements done with Hixson Brothers in Alexandria. I don't know what she knew that I didn't, but she made one of the wisest decisions in her life! From start to finish, we received expert, professional and compassionate care. Each person we came into contact with took their time in answering our questions in such a polite and patient way. Jeff Johnson handled our case and his many years of experience was on display in helping us make some tough decisions. The funeral parlor itself is so beautiful and peaceful and not too overwhelmingly big. The chairs and esthetics were cozy, comfortable and updated in design and taste. I just can't say enough about all the staff, including the nice lady who typed up the programs and did the family video to the caring lady who passed out water at the end of the visitation. If you're looking for a place to hire for your loved one or yourself, make the same decision my mom did and go with Hixson!!

Hixson Brother Funeral Home in Pineville, LA, is exceptional! They made us feel like family, and I highly recommend them if you want truly professional, compassionate care while dealing with the loss of your loved one. My Mother passed away, in Nashville TN, in March, 2020. We made one phone call to Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Pineville, LA and they took care of everything from that point on! Although she had to be transported across state lines from TN to LA, Hixson Brothers had resources already in place and took care of all the legalities and details so we didn't have to worry about it. The visitation and funeral service were each conducted in a compassionate, respectful manner, and the graveside service was lovely, despite inclement weather conditions. Terry Luneau, whom we worked with throughout the process, achieved the perfect combination of professionalism and compassion. He was responsive to all of our many questions, and quite helpful and accommodating in taking care of the business end with life insurance etc. But most of all, he did a wonderful job with caring for our precious Mother. She was as beautiful as she has ever been, with minimal make up just as she wanted, and hair arranged in usual hair style just as if she had fixed it herself! Furthermore, within about two weeks, each of us had received the kindest personal texts from Julie with Hixson Brothers, just following up to see if we needed anything and be sure we were all doing ok after we had returned home and were once again engaged in our everyday lives. I, my sisters, and our respective families, were overwhelmed with the positive feeling we had from our experience with Hixson Brothers Funeral Home, and both Terry and Julie in particular, during one of the most difficult times in our lives - losing our Mother. When the time comes for a choice to be made as to final arrangements for your loved one, I can highly recommend Hixson Brothers, on all points, without reserve.

Hixson Brothers handled the arrangements for my mother's funeral in June. They were helpful without being intrusive. Each item that was discussed was executed flawlessly; it was very comforting to know that I could give instructions once and they would be carried out exactly as requested. The staff at Hixson Brothers prepared a lovely slide show from a stack of photos we left with them. The program for the service, the obituary in the paper, transporting the flower arrangements and a myriad of details were all taken care of quietly behind the scenes. Thank you, Hixson Brothers, for making a difficult day go smoothly. Thank you also, for your continued care and follow-up since the service.

My Dad, Lester Spears, was laid to rest January 22nd and from the beginning the staff at Hixson especially Joel Swisher walked me through and helped me plan the perfect homecoming. Their attention to detail and professionalism amazed me. I did not have a clue how to plan a funeral, Joel walked me through it all and even contacted the honor guard in Shreveport for me. There was nothing I asked for that was not done and done with perfection. Joel even took my mom to the graveside in her wheelchair. I can not thank Joel and the staff at Hixson Brothers enough for making a difficult time bearable and helping us honor our beloved pawpaw so flawlessly. Joel you have such a kind and caring soul and are so sincere you felt like part of our family. With loving thanks , the Spears family

My family has always used Hixson Brothers for funerals, and we’ve been pleased. Four years ago when our Mom died, we received the large, beautiful picture of her that was framed. We appreciate you very much.
